The USSG was started by Janet Miller Sheehan in 2004, as an outgrowth of the IISA/ICP organization. In 2009, Trish Alexander took over the company, now called Skate Instructors Association. The goal of Skate IA is to provide professional certification programs to the skate industry including Quad & Inline (and soon, skate boards and more) as well as insurance for independent instructors and skate schools.

Skate IA is committed to providing additional education to the members so that not only do they offer their students more, but also that their own skating is at its highest level. The Strategic Advisors below have all written the history of IISA/ICP/USSG and now Skate IA. As an industry we are indebted to their efforts. Who will show up in 2010 as the movers and shakers?
